in this post i will be discussing everything i have done in the last few weeks as i was unable to update my posts, after the last post we progressed with our designs until they were complete, doing this our posters had to be only 2 colours as we were planning on screen printing the designs and we did not have enough time to do more than one colour, after a while we realise we would not have enough time to finish this so we needed to think of a new idea, the next thing we tried was a process where we created stamps for our designs, but this process did not go as well as planned as the detail of the posters were hard to make into stamps. the week after we had to think of a new idea this is where though of creating recycled paper which would be made into bags for the exhibition and these would be filled with some of our work for the visiters, so for the next few weeks we were using old tissue paper from the art cupboard which was to be recycled making these into bags took many weeks as we needed 200 bags for the exhibition. finally on the day of the exhibition we also helped out with selling raffel tickets for the exhibition when we did this we help raise over £100 extra for the charity,. the night of the exhibition went very well at the end as our graphics arrea had something to show, overall i think this has gone very successful for the time we had. here are some pictures of my final designs which i have created including some of the bags and how we made them:

This week we have been told to research in more depth and we have been told by another lecturer which kind of products we need to design, these are bags for life, logos, slogans and final work to be put on these bag, we have also discuss other aspects of this project and how we are going to earn money they have decided they are going to an auction, which will sell work and items which celebrities have donated only if we can get hold of some items. We are now going to get more research and designs done so when we meet together next week we can show our work to the other students working on this project, these student are all from different classes which includes fashion design and photography. After seeing other people ideas for the event this should help me allot with my designs and give me new ideas that I can develop into my work.

This week I have continued to work with my poster designs and I have created a range of images that are all suitable for using in my work, I have created these by getting a picture of the Ugandan child and making it black and white so it is easier to edit, I then used the halftone pattern tool this made the image look like it had been made from dots this is one effect I would like to use in my final design, this image below is one of those I have created, I am thinking of changing the dots on the child's face to a percentage of children orphaned by aids I will do this by colouring in the dot for the children who are not orphaned and making the others black and white for the children who are orphaned because of aids. I still have more ideas how to develop this in future lessons that should result in a successful poster.

this week i have started to develop my best poster thumnail on photoshop, on this poster i have decided to include links to unganda and percentages of orphaned children because i think this is the best way of raising money for the charity as people remember the percentages very well and therefore my work will meet its purpose. next week i am hoping to continue this and devolop the design greatly

last week we decided to sit down to have a coffee and discuss all of or ideas we had for this project, we had a range of different ideas which we all contributed to. we then created a mood board where we all added our ideas to it, this gave us a range of ideas we could use. the main ideas we came up with is something unique to Uganda e.g the country made up into words that linked to the country or using the flag, we also thought about using pictures of the ugandans so you can see what it is like where they are and there living conditions,These ideas will helped us and we are planning to develop them ideas to create a successful piece.

This week our class have been looking at a range of different posters for our research, this poster above is one of the posters i have chosen this is because it is eye catching and different from most posters. This poster will help me when I am creating my own designs because I could base it on this and other posters I have fount on the internet. All of these poster I have fount today have inspired me to make a good poster and make the work the best I possible can. We have also been looking at other artists that are doing a similar thing to us, they have given us some ideas from their posters and also the idea of making t-shirts with part of our budget.

Hello this is my first post my name is Joshua Bradbury and i am currently at Newcastle underlyme college.
I am doing a project to support the charity uganda humanist school trust which aims are to support humanist schools in uganda by providing books and resources for ugandan children with your donation. Donations to the charity would be greatly accepted and would be put to good use by buying essential books for the children and laptops for the teachers so they can plan the lessons and get familiar with the technology that will allow the children to learn a wider range of work.

The aims of this charity is to be donated an excess of £1000 which will go to all basic resources that we take for granted. it only cost £120 to allow a child to go to school which includes breakfast and lunch, this is a small amount of money needed, but is allot of money to them.
if you would like to give to this charity or just visit to see what they are about please go on the website athttp://www.ugandahumanistschoolstrust.org/trust/supporter.html and see if you can make a difference.
thank you
